Happy Inside...

How to harness the power of home for health and happiness - a book by Michelle Ogundehin

I have just finished off reading the 'Happy Inside' book from Michelle Ogundehin - such a great read. It resonates with me on so many levels.

In a way it is a practical step-by-step guide giving you lots of great tips and advice about how you can create a home that truly supports you in every sense - and of course, the people whom you live with. It covers everything that is needed to design a great space from the physical and visual perspective.

On the other hand - and this is what I personally like the most about it - it is quite philosophical even citing a few big thinkers. It goes behind and beyond what a good interior design means. It connects you with yourself and explains why when thinking about designing your home you need to go deeper than just what sort of colour scheme to choose or what sort of sofa, kitchen cabinets and flooring.

I have always believed that there is a strong link between the state of your everyday environment and how it impacts you as a human being. That the state of your home is the reflection of the state of your life, of the state of your mental, emotional and physical condition. That investing into your home is investing into yourself.

So if you make positive changes about your home, your immediate environment it will positively influence and improve your life as well.

As the author, Michelle Ogundehin, who was once the Editor-in-Chief of the British Elle, says:

"...the establishment of a happy home - one that makes you feel fantastic, not one that just looks good - can be the ultimate foundation for the life you dare to dream of having".

So, dare to dream of having a happy home and happy life and have a proper look at the book if you are on the mission of improving not only your space but your life as well.

And on the not so 'side note' - that lovely little gold-rimmed blue-white plate is the creation of a good friend of mine, Georgia, who is a super talented ceramic artist at Dream Tableware. Do have a look at her as well:

Styling and Decorating - Express Yourself

You might have a newly purchased home that needs a full styling service or you already have the big pieces in place but the interior still lacks that "wow" factor and need some help with the smaller details.

Perhaps you just need a sort of design remix to refresh your space and give it a new look.

Or alternatively you are about to sell or rent your property and wish to make it more appealing and valuable for possible buyers and renters.
